Free business tools FAQ

Are these business tools really free?

Yes. All nine tools are free to use without creating an account. A fair-use limit only applies to the AI-assisted tools to protect them from automated abuse.

Does a generated name mean it is available?

No. Names are creative suggestions. Check Companies House, trademarks, domains and social accounts before choosing one.

What is a SIC code?

A Standard Industrial Classification code describes a company’s business activities. Companies House asks for at least one when a company is registered.

Can a company use more than one SIC code?

Yes. If your company carries out several distinct activities, you can select the codes that best describe them. Verify your choices against Companies House guidance.

Which VAT rate should I use?

Most UK goods and services use the 20% standard rate. Some use the 5% reduced rate or 0% zero rate. Always check the current GOV.UK guidance for what you sell.

Does the launch checklist cover every legal requirement?

No. It is a practical organiser for common founder tasks. Your exact legal, tax, insurance and licensing duties depend on your business, so confirm them using official guidance or a qualified adviser.
